2024-2025 Bible Study
Women’s and Children’s Bible Study beginning Thursday, September 5, 2024
We will turn to the first gospel in the New Testament for a 30-week-study of a book whose purpose is to prove that Jesus is the Messiah, the eternal King, promised
by the prophets. The One for whom they have been waiting. Beginning with a
genealogy of Jesus, the gospel according to Matthew, one of the twelve disciples Christ called first to follow Him, begins right away with the clear message -- God
intends to make all things new through His Son! The gospel, targeted to the Jews, is filled with messianic language including 53 Old Testament quotes and 76 other
references from the Old Testament. As we study, we will be convinced of God’s
sovereign control over the events of history, a plan unfolding since before the
foundation of the world. A plan that is moving toward a goal determined by
Almighty God. As we study, expect your outlook for each day to be changed as we realize that the Kingdom is now (the already) and the Kingdom is to come (the not yet). We will ponder how we fit into the bigger story as we come to a better
understanding of Who God is and How He does thing through the portrait of His Son, who said, “not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). What a discovery it will be for each of us who takes up this amazing book
with an expectation that our lives will be changed, as we anticipate the best that is yet to come. May His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10)
2024-25 curriculum will be the study of the gospel of Matthew
We offer nursery care for babies & toddlers, as well as classes led by trained teachers for preschoolers through high schoolers. Participants must be registered as class sizes are limited. In the CBS Children’s Ministry, Preschoolers and Kindergarteners are taught Old and New Testament Bible lessons every week. We use a variety of activities such as Scripture memory work, crafts, music, and games to enhance the teaching. In the CBS Youth Ministry, homeschool students will have age-appropriate curriculum to study the same scripture lessons as the adults. Three classes led by trained teachers are divided by grade level: Primary (1st-3rd grade), Junior (4th-6th grade), and Teens (7th grade & up.) Like the adults, students have homework, core-group discussion time, opportunities to share prayer requests, Scripture to memorize, and a teaching. Class time also includes fun activities such as games, music, crafts, and skits. Our goal in CBS Children and Youth ministries is to come alongside parents as they teach their children about Jesus' wonderful love for them and train them to live out God’s truths in their lives.
Agape is an in-depth Bible study for young adult women with special needs who want to study God’s Word together and share His love. We provide a safe, caring environment in which to grow in faith together. We meet on Monday nights at Shandon Baptist Church.
